In this class, we will learn the basics of making soap in your own kitchen, combining lye solutions with oils to create a chemical reaction called saponification. We will talk about scenting, cutting, storing and packaging your new soaps, as well as the benefits for using real homemade soap in your skin.

 Supplies to Bring: Safety Glasses, Instant Read Thermometer, Stick Blender* (if you have one)
2 medium bowls,* 2 rubber spatulas,* Kitchen Scale (if you have one), 8 oz olive oil, 6 oz canola oil, 1 oz essential oils of your choice. Wear Old Clothes

*equipment used for soap making should not be used for cooking.
