If you want to get serious about wood carving, this is the course for you.  This course will span four sessions.  It will be a succession of Sunday afternoons, from 1 to 3pm.  The course will start with on Sunday, September 18th.  Over the four sessions, the following topic areas will be discussed and demonstrated


-          Tool Selection, Maintenance, and Sharpening

-          Relief Wood Carving.  Students will be working on their own pieces of work under the guidance of the instructor.

-          Three Dimensional Wood Carving (In the round) – Students will be working on their own piece focusing on in the round carving during this module.  The instructor will guide them through the process of carving their piece.

-          Chip carving and Whittling:  Again, the students will working on their own piece of work that will focus on chip carving and whittling.

Supplies to Bring: Carving Tools – The school has a list of tools to order for this course.  Students are required to bring hand protection.  A waiver of liability is required for this course.  If you have any questions about tool selection prior to the course, the instructor can provide you with guidance.
